A strategic decision to diversify its service offering to the market led to the addition of an electronic manufacturing division by P24 Interconnect earlier this year. The new division not only provides the market with uncompromisingly high quality, but also ensures that P24 reduces its risk exposure by offering current and potential customers additional, complementary services grounded in the company’s long-standing manufacturing expertise.
P24 Interconnect CEO, Quentin van den Bergh explains that the division is capable of undertaking SMT (surface mount technology) and discrete electronic PCB assembly, mechanical assembly, programming and testing of final product.
All P24 products are manufactured to IPC-610 standards, and the new division currently manufactures for clients in the defence, mining (intrinsically safe products) and biomedical industries.
“Due to our configuration and selection of equipment, we can accommodate small to medium production runs with ease, and we also offer prototyping with very short lead times. We have employed three additional equipment operators and three technicians and we have added various new equipment dedicated to the department,” says Van den Bergh.
Van den Bergh explains that due to the company’s increased footprint, a concurrent relocation of its premises took place. The company is now located at 137 Rover Road, Rustivia, in Germiston.
“We believe that flexibility and customisation of products is of great benefit to customers and our team is extremely knowledgeable and well versed in provided solutions rather than boxed products,” says Van den Bergh.
